Phu Quoc Real Estate — Projects Distributed by HPR
Phu Quoc is a special administrative zone of An Giang province and the host of APEC 2027. If you are considering a home or apartment on the island, here is what to know, with the list of projects HPR advises on.

Phu Quoc is Vietnam's largest island and a well-known beach destination. Since 1 July 2025, Phu Quoc has been a special administrative zone of An Giang province (after Kien Giang merged with An Giang). For this reason, projects in Phu Quoc may be listed under An Giang province on the HPR website.
Why buyers look at Phu Quoc real estate
- Special zone model. The Phu Quoc special zone covers more than 589 km² and was formed from the entire area of the former Phu Quoc city.
- APEC 2027. Phu Quoc has been chosen to host APEC 2027. Many facilities are being built for the event, including a convention centre and supporting infrastructure.
- Airport expansion. The Phu Quoc Airport expansion has a total investment of about 22,000 billion VND and will raise capacity to 18–20 million passengers a year when completed. According to plan, phase 1 of Terminal T2 will be completed at the end of 2026.
- Year-round tourism. The island has many beaches, resorts and entertainment parks. Buyers often consider a home combined with holiday rentals.
Major events and new infrastructure may bring more visitors. However, nobody can guarantee rental rates or occupancy after the event. Plan your finances carefully.
What to check before you buy
- Land type and ownership term: long-term residential land, commercial and service land, and holiday apartments come with very different rights. Ask clearly which type of certificate will be issued.
- Project legal status: detailed zoning plan, construction permit, approval to sell. Many projects on the island are developed in phases — check the specific phase you are buying in.
- Rental and operating commitments: read carefully about the operator, how revenue is shared, deductible costs and the length of the commitment.
- Travel and remote management costs: if you live in Ho Chi Minh City, add the cost of flights, management fees and operating costs while the property is empty.
- New administrative address: since the special zone was created, the old ward and commune names have changed. Check them on the contract.
